Crittenden's Teacher of the Year- Adria Merritt
Congratulations to 6th Grade teacher, Adria Merritt, Crittenden Middle School Teacher of the Year and NNPS Middle School Teacher of the Year!  We are proud of Mrs Merritt and all she does to make Crittenden a better place for all of our students.


SOL TESTING will begin on Wednesday May16th and continue through Friday June 1st.  Please be sure that your child has plenty of sleep the night before testing, gets a good breakfast and comes to school relaxed and ready to test.  No electronic devices are allowed in testing situations.  Students will be asked to turn off cell phones and leave them in their lockers or give them to teachers until testing is completed.  Please try not to schedule appointments on testing days- students have as much time as needed to complete tests, and we don't want them to be rushed to complete a test because they need to leave school early for an appointment.  It is CRITICAL that students are present each day that they have a test.  Please help your students to be at school and to be on time.

Sixth Grade Events:  Field Day June 7th
Awards Ceremony will be held Monday June 11th at 9am (early dismissal day)
Seventh Grade Events: Field Day June 8th
Awards Ceremony will be held Tuesday June 12th at 9am (early dismissal day)
Eighth Grade Events: Eighth Grade Dance Friday June 8th from 6:30-8:30pm
Eighth Grade Picnic June 12th 11am (early dismissal day)
Awards Ceremony will be held on Wednesday June 13th at 9am (early dismissal day)

Crittenden has a hotline to report bullying. Bullying is NOT tolerated at any Newport News school. Please check out this website from the US Department of Health and Human Services about bullying and how to prevent it.

EARN MONEY FOR OUR SCHOOL
Don't forget to save your Farm Fresh receipts and "Box Tops for Education."  Also, "re-link" your Food Lion and Harris Teeter cards, and sign up for a Target Red Card (credit or check card) and enroll in "Take Charge of Education." The class that brings in the most will earn a Dress Down Pass!
